Don’t be deterred by the apparent chaos inside this tiny fish market; it’s very often packed with people standing “in line” — it’s more of a pack really — but the staff is adept at keeping track of who’s next and what’s happening.
In any case, it’s packed for a good reason: your tastebuds will go bonkers for their offerings.
Our most recent stop at The Fish Express yielded an out-of-this-world furikake ahi salad. Some ribs and fried teriyaki chicken were also involved (whoever thought of frying teriyaki chicken deserves a high-five!)
Try some of their most exotic snacks. You won’t regret it.
Those were swimming that morning.
Don’t be fooled by the to-go boxes — this meal was spectacular.
Suggestion: get in the car and drive to Kilohana Plantation. It’s 2 minutes away and they have a small picnic area next to the Koloa Rum Company tasting room. Sign up for the next rum tasting session before you eat so you won’t have to wait 30 minutes in line. You’re welcome, and bon appétit!
We added Fish Express into Tripidee. It’s a great tool for organizing your vacation ideas and trip planning visually. Check out our Kauai Trip. It has all of our favorite spots! You can download the Tripidee app and have one click directions too!
